Charles Bencivengo DMD
Dr. Bencivengo received his D.M.D. degree from Farleigh Dickinson University in 1974. While at Farleigh Dickinson, he received the Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievement from the Department of Endodontics.
Dr. Bencivengo served four years as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. He has been in practice for over thirty years and during this time he has seen much advancement in the science of dentistry. Dr. Bencivengo enjoys keeping current with all of the new advances and techniques while constantly improving his clinical skills by taking advanced courses with the leaders in the dental industry, namely, The Dawson Academy of Dentistry and the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education. Some of the courses Dr. Bencivengo has taken include: Advanced Endodontics, Esthetics/Cosmetic Dentistry, Porcelain Veneers, Advanced Functional Restorative Dentistry and Implant Restorations. He has also been certified with the World Clinical Laser Institute and is certified in Oral Sedation. Dr. Bencivengo is an alumnus of both the Dawson Academy and the Spear Education programs.
Dr. Bencivengo lives in Burlington with his wife Mary and is the father of three sons. He is an avid bicyclist and also enjoys skiing, traveling and spending time with his wife and children in his free time.
Wing Ko, DMD, FAGD, FICOI
Dr. Ko was born and raised in Hong Kong, moving to the United States to attend college. After graduating cum laude from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, he was employed at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as a senior lab technician. He received his Doctoral degree in Dental Medicine from Tufts University in 2001.
Dr. Ko has been practicing dentistry in central Connecticut since 2003. He completed his certificate in Orthodontics and the International Association for Orthodontics in 2005, and has been helping his patients achieve healthy, beautiful, natural looking smiles with Invisalign and Lumineers, as well as conventional braces. In addition to orthodontics, Dr. Ko is also experienced in restorative, endodontic, cosmetic, prosthodontics, and laser dentistry, as well as implant restoration and oral surgery.
Dr. Ko is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and International Association for Orthodontics. He has been volunteering for the Connecticut Mission of Mercy since 2010, providing free dental care to the underserved and uninsured in Connecticut.
Dr. Ko lives in Avon with his wife and three children. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and attending his children’s violin and piano performances.
Office Manager - Vivian
Vivian was born and grew up in Taiwan, moving to the U.S. in 1999 to pursue and advanced degree. She received an MBA from the University of Hartford, and the designation for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Manager from The Institutes. Vivian lives in Avon with her husband, Dr. Ko and their three children. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and good food.
Dental Hygienist - Cindy (Retired)
Cindy grew up in Sharon, CT. After attending Northeastern University in Boston for a Dental Assisting Certificate she furthered her career in Dental Hygiene at Tunxis Community College. Upon her graduation in 1979 she has worked in private practices as well as being a hygienist for the Bristol Public and Parochial School Systems.
She has been a part of Drs. Bencivengo & Ko's hygiene team since 2005 and is a valued employee with her thirty five years of experience.
As a professional, Cindy continuously strives to provide "gentle" optimal oral health care to all of her patients. Her passion for dental hygiene continues to grow from the positive results she has seen her patients achieve over the years.
Cindy is married with two children. She enjoys spending time on the coast of Maine with her family, and visiting new places. Her hobbies include baking, crafts and gardening.
Dental Hygienist - Eden
Eden graduated from Westbrook College in 1980 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She has been with Dr. Bencivengo since 1990. Eden stays current with all subjects related to dental hygiene, including periodontal procedures and techniques. Eden is certified to administer local anesthesia, and is happy to educate patients regarding their oral health. When not at work, Eden enjoys reading, cooking, going to the gym, watching baseball, and spending time with family and friends.
Dental Hygienist - Pauline
Pauline’s love for the dental profession began in high school when she became an assistant for her orthodontist. From there, Pauline received her dental hygiene degree from Tunxis Community College, graduating with recognition for her academic achievement. She has a passion for whole body health, making the connection between the oral cavity and physical well-being! Pauline resides in Canton with her husband, Michael of 30 years and has 2 wonderful, grown children! She enjoys spending time with her extended family and dog, Bailey. Past times include: hiking, playing cards and watching Boston Red Sox baseball and Boston Bruins hockey. She is greatly looking forward to working with Dr. Bencivengo, Dr. Ko and their amazing team!!
Dental Hygienist-Lisa
Lisa is a registered dental hygienist and received her degree from Tunxis Community College. She enjoys collaborating with her patients helping them to achieve optimal oral health. Lisa has many interests including reading, boating, and snowmobiling.
Insurance Coordinator - Linda (Retired)
Linda joined our practice in 1995. With over 30 years of experience as an insurance coordinator, she can answer all our patients’ insurance coverage questions. She has two sons and two grandsons. She loves singing and traveling.
Dental Receptionist - Lorraine
Lorraine started her dental career as a Certified Orthodontic Assistant where she enjoyed motivating young teens in the practice. After many years in Orthodontic offices, Lorraine managed a dental office for several years. She is happy to be in a team atmosphere where she can accommodate the scheduling needs of the patients. In her spare time she likes to read, ballroom dance, shop and travel. Lorraine is a volunteer at the Warner Theatre in Torrington where she assists in the front of the house activities. She goes home each day to her two pampered cats.
Patient Care Coordinator - Melissa
Melissa obtained her Nursing Assistant certification in 1994. After several years working as a C.N.A, she became the Scheduling Coordinator for Farmington Valley V.N.A. At this time, she realized her love for the administration side of health care. In 2002, Melissa crossed over to the dental field as a Dental Treatment/Insurance Care Coordinator. After fifteen years of working for a General Dentist in Farmington, she is very excited and optimistic joining the Bencivengo & Ko team! She and her husband are parents of three young boys that keep them very busy. Some of her past times are family time, church, skiing and running a small hobby farm of miniature goats.
